This Privacy Policy explains how DSSI BRANDS LIMITED trading as Rudie ("Rudie", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal information when you visit rudie.com.au, buy from us, join our mailing list, or interact with us on social media. We are committed to handling personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you are located in the EU, UK, or certain US states, additional rights may apply (see "Your rights").
1. THE PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
- Identity and contact details: name, email, phone, shipping and billing address.
- Order and transaction information: items purchased, order value, payment confirmation (full card details are handled by our payment providers, not stored by us).
- Account and preference information: marketing preferences, sizes, and anything you tell us.
- Communications: messages you send us by email, social media or web form.
- Technical and usage information: IP address, device/browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring URLs and site interactions, collected via cookies and similar technologies.
We do not seek sensitive information and do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
2. HOW WE COLLECT IT
Directly from you (sign-up, order, contact), automatically as you use our site (cookies, pixels, analytics), and occasionally from third parties such as our payment, shipping and advertising partners.
3. WHY WE USE IT
To process, fulfil and deliver orders and provide support; manage your account; send marketing where you've asked us to (opt out anytime); operate, secure, personalise, analyse and improve our site and products; run and measure advertising; and comply with legal, tax and regulatory obligations. Where the GDPR/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract, your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests, and legal obligations.
4. WHEN WE DISCLOSE IT
Only as needed to run our business, including with: Shopify (platform and hosting); payment providers (e.g. Shopify Payments, Afterpay, PayPal, which process payments directly); Klaviyo (email marketing); shipping and fulfilment partners; analytics and advertising partners (e.g. Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, which may set cookies/pixels); service providers (IT, support, professional advisers); and authorities where required or permitted by law. We do not sell your personal information.
5. INTERNATIONAL TRANSFERS
Some providers (including Shopify, Klaviyo, Google, Meta, TikTok and Pinterest) store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. Where we transfer information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with this policy and applicable law. By using our site you acknowledge your information may be processed outside your country of residence.
6. COOKIES AND TRACKING
We use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember preferences, measure traffic and performance, and deliver and measure advertising. You can manage cookies via your browser and opt out of personalised ads through the relevant ad platforms. Some features may not work if cookies are disabled.
7. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
If you opt in, we'll send news, launches and offers. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link; you can opt out anytime or email hello@rudie.com.au. This does not stop transactional messages like order or shipping confirmations.
8. HOW WE KEEP IT SECURE
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including reputable platforms, encryption in transit and access controls. No method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. HOW LONG WE KEEP IT
Only as long as necessary for the purposes above or to meet legal, accounting, tax or reporting requirements. When no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.
10. YOUR RIGHTS
Everyone: you can ask to access or correct your information, and opt out of marketing, by emailing hello@rudie.com.au. We may need to verify your identity.
EU/UK (GDPR): you may also have rights to erasure, restriction, data portability, to object, and to withdraw consent, and may complain to your local data protection authority.
US state residents (e.g. California): you may have rights to know, delete, and opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Contact hello@rudie.com.au.
11. CHILDREN
Our site and products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
12. THIRD-PARTY LINKS
Our site and communications may link to third-party sites or platforms. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.
13. CHANGES
We may update this policy; the current version is always posted here with its "last updated" date. Material changes will be made clear where appropriate.
